Noyce Foundation

The Noyce Foundation was created by the Noyce family in 1990 to honor the memory and legacy of Dr. Robert N. Noyce, co-founder of Intel and inventor of the integrated circuit which fueled the personal computer revolution and gave Silicon Valley its name.

The Noyce Foundation sunset on December 31, 2015. Work in informal science, the Inside Mathematics website and he Noyce Leadership Institute (NLI) alumni program will continue:

The Noyce Foundation has transitioned its work in mathematics from the direct work with schools and districts of the Silicon Valley Mathematics Initiative and the First in Mathematics Consortium to a focus on the national dissemination of the tools and assets that came from those initiatives.

The Noyce Foundation has undertaken several major initiatives to support high quality science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programming in out-of-school time (OST). These initiatives are impacting millions of youth, including a high percentage from populations underrepresented in STEM fields.

To support the success and endurance of system improvement the Foundation supports the development of leaders in the areas of our focus: improvement of math and science instruction and informal science especially in science centers.
